Stewart Lamb
Chief Operating Officer

Stewart grew up the son of a small business owner in Jackson, Mississippi.  He got his first taste of business in high school when he started his own direct sales funnel by teaching and contracting a team, sourcing referrals, and navigating various complexities that naturally came with it.  After graduating from the University of Mississippi with a Master’s in Accountancy, he moved to Memphis to work for KPMG, a global accounting firm, as an associate auditor. “You learn a lot when you peer into other companies’ operations, and financial statements.  Understanding how larger companies developed their internal structure to drive sound decision making always intrigued me.  I believe there is a right and a wrong way to do things. Finding answers that allow us to make something better OR recognize something isn’t working can be unclear when there’s no ability to definitively measure results.”

After 2 years of working the long hours of public accounting and feeling the itch to get back into a sales environment, Stewart took a role with a financial project management group.  He spent a vast amount of time with a wide array of controllers and chief financial officers in the Greater Memphis Area.  “I would listen to their pain points and work to source a solution.” Shortly thereafter, in 2016, Stewart moved back to Oxford, MS to serve as the controller for Ironwood – a startup acquisition of a merchant services company.  “I feel like I experienced all of the positives and negatives a business could throw at you during my time at Ironwood, and while I’m always looking to learn more, it will always be the place where I felt like I formed the firm foundational basics of what it takes to be a C-level manager.”

In 2021, Stewart began to serve as the CFO for Delta Wildlife and its affiliate organizations (Delta Council, Delta F.A.R.M).  “People that know me, are well aware of my life-long passion for hunting and the outdoors. In more recent years, that passion has morphed into a desire for managing land to produce and hold a variety of wildlife.  The opportunity to use my talents and experiences to serve the conservation mission in my home state was an absolute no-brainer.”  Stewart administrated several USDA grants and NRCS projects for the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta region while also serving as an advisor to the organization’s director and board.  “A few years later, when I was approached by the amazing team here at Steward Link, I was given a vision of what we’re looking to accomplish.  I quickly wanted to be a part of it.”

“I love creation.  I love the Creator. I am passionate about the calling to be a good steward of the resources with which we are all blessed.  I want our customers to know that same passion is contagious amongst our team, and it’s the driving force behind every phone conversation we have, every document we request make, every stewardship plan we write, and so forth.”

Stewart and his wife, Sarah, met in Oxford in 2016 and have two children, Kate and Scheller. They reside in Indianola, MS.
